SEE THIS????

So, this is what happens when Dad goes to pick up his turkey that a Joplin car dealer advertised, promising every person who walks through the doors receives. He not only gets a holiday turkey, but he also brings home a holiday TRUCK!!!

I wondered what in the world was taking him so long when he went into Joplin Sat. morning to return the rental car he had for the weekend. He left at 8:30 and did not come home until 5pm!!

He got a great deal on it because he kept haggling with the salesman. The guy told Dad he has never dealt with a customer who was so determined to talk down the price! (I don't know if that was meant as a compliment or not, but that's how Dad took it!!)

So now your dad has the truck he has been wanting for such a long time, and he doesn't have to drive around in the big van anymore, just a big truck!! It is a "99 Dodge Ram. Very good condition. Dad likes to surprise me when it comes to cars.........this one was a nice surprise!!

Now that the driveway is complete, we gotta have a nice car to drive across it!!

As you can see, it is finished, but not ready to drive across yet. Tues it will be week since we poured and then we can use it and I can finally park by the house again!! Next project: finish the addition!! (Things take a long time around here when Dad only has evenings, when it is dark, and a couple of Saturdays a month to work on thing around here, but it is coming along, slow but sure!!)

NICE!!! And what a time to get a truck too! Especially when gas prices have dropped like they have! The truck looks good except the yucky camper shell!! (nothing against the camper shell, I just prefer trucks without them!) But yeah! Yay for Dad! What was the final haggled price?? And we need to know a little more, 2WD, 4WD, power stuff, tell us!

And nice job on the driveway! I can't wait to come home and see all the changes! Have the addition done by September so we can see it in full effect!

And dang! A free turkey!! That's the best part!! :)

WOW! A truck! May my husband NEVER surprise me like that. Amen.

In other news, Garry says "They PAVED THEIR DRIVEWAY?!" Then he goes on to say, "When it rains that's the most horrible awful driveway in the world." So I guess this pavement thing is really exciting to him...which is why you should invite us over next time we're in Missouri. *wink* We can drive up and down your driveway with the music on like they do on Cars after McQueen paves the road. And then we can even go inside your house maybe and say hi. :) And now it's getting really late at night...and I should stop and go to bed.
