I think I have talked to everyone by now about this but I am posting it so everyone will be reminded......The first official Shell and Susan Claybrook Family Reunion will take place next year, the first or second week in June, 2010, (depending on which week is Youth Conference for Scott). We need to have a family gathering before Stephen leaves for his mission, hopefully in June around his birthday. Everyone be writing down some activities and things you would like to do, and we will get everyones ideas, throw out the impossible ones, and consider the rest. I promise, Adam S. there will be no programs, no sing-a-longs, and no skits! We will start our own traditions with things we like to do. Some suggestions so far......Bowling, Silver Dollar City, renting the local pool, going to the lake and renting a house boat, canoeing, taking a "real" family photo.........put in your 2 cents worth, we need all the ideas we can get!! We will just start this one by staying here at our house, and doing things from here. So far there are only 17 of us, but I hope to have an addition or two to the family by then!! So start talking about it, and put it on your calendar and as soon as we know which week for sure, we will let you all know.

What are the additions that you are planning on?
Isn't Shyanne still in school? How is she going to make it out to MO for a week?? And, I have the same question as Sam....what additions are you planning on?

I think I veto the houseboat idea....there are WAYY too many of us to fit comfortably in a houseboat for very long...I'd much rather just camp on the lake...the lakes there aren't that big anyway...do they even offer houseboats??? Adam is all up for a boys only canoe/float trip. We like the idea of renting the pool and bowling as well. as for the REAL family photo....after our last experience..I'm gonna have to veto that one as well!! But I realize I'll be outnumbered on this one...I guess there's always the option of us just not purchasing a piece of paper for $50. We'll keep thinking though!!
And I think the "addition or two" mom was talking about was probably seth and melindas little one, and then a possible new sister in law or another baby from someone though it for sure won't be from us!! :)
Ooooo, I think that Seth or Melinda should take (since they have an awesome camera...jealous...) our individual family pictures while we are there. That way if we want, so and so can have a picture in front of their favorite spot, or at a park or wherever. WAAAYY cheaper than professional and there's no doubt it would be better quality than our last one!! What say ye??
Shelly is right about the additions......but I could have said something like......the front room addition and my bedroom addition!! The front room BETTER be finished by then!! That's the plan anyway. But yes, it would be nice to have Samuel married by then, but I am not pushing. And as far as Shyanne being in school then, THIS WAS HER IDEA! She better be able to come!! As for pictures, I don't like studio pictures either.....we have enough people who can take good pictures......I just want a COMPLETE family picture!! That means EVERYONE HAS to be here together for at least a day so we can do that!!! Got that guys?
Ok....another word or two from us: I know this was Shyanne's idea....but if you talked to her and asked her about it, she was thinking July, when she is out of school. I recommend asking her about it. (I talked to her about it on Monday.)
I do agree with Shelly about the houseboat. I think that it would be awesome, but I don't think that we would all fit. (And some of us may have some issues with being on water....I for one, get sea sick....and water isn't my fav. But, if that's the vote, I'll see what I can do I'll be a good sport.)
Camping near a lake is fine, too. Whatever works. I guess we need the guys to talk and get figured out how long their floating/canoeing trip, and we can plan this around that. Renting a pool is fine.....I'm not a huge bowler, but whatever. I don't really care too much. A "real" photo, I believe, would only be one with everyone in it, and I think that that is an awesome idea, all though, I, like Shelly, don't really like photos. And, of course Seth and I can take individual family photos if you would like. We don't mind at all.
(And I guess with that addition...if you only have 10 or 11 months before this "family reunion"....I don't think it's going to happen. Hopefully Mom was referring to house additions....)
Again, Seth and I will keep thinking and trying to come up with ideas.....we've got a lot of other things on our minds at the moment, and this has been a big conversation starter lately.....but we'll get to it when we can.
Well to clarify mom said additions to the "famliy" Someone would have to get pregnant quick or mom and dad get a dog or something.
Hey well I vote for Silver dollar City!! And agree we need a nice family photo. So is it in June or July now?
We already got a new addition to the family......just yesterday!! Dad and I went into Tulsa and bought a 2006 Silver Chevy Malibu.....the nicest car we have ever had. No one under 20 is allowed to drive it!! In fact, we arnt even going to drive it for a while.....can't afford the taxes and license yet!! It will sit for a while.
As for the date of the reunion....if you all still want to do it, is up to you kids. Shelly and Adam already had plans to come in June, Shyanne will be in school till end of July........maybe this isn't going to work after all..........I just got too excited and jumped the gun.
