Oh Dam!!!

Ok.........I swear I am not swearing! It's just that I had to do this "dam" post, because all of you need to see this. Dad hired an earth mover, bull dozer, track loader....what ever you want to call it, to build a dam across the creek. So take a look at this!!

Right where it was years ago.......



In the process of being built.............higher than we had it before............


....with a road going across it so we now have a circle drive.........


Took TWO WHOLE DAYS to get this thing built!


Samuel, Scott and Stephen smoothing it out so it can be driven on. Pretty cool, huh? So take a look at this!!



Not even ONE WEEK after the dam is built......we get a MAJOR storm..........tons of rain.....so this is what it looks like Thanksgiving morning............


Flooding everywhere!! Because of that, we now have water behind the dam and in front of it, and water going across the driveway and road..........

It has gone down now..........no water going across the driveway anymore......but the dam is holding!! We will see what happens in the future!!

We're gettin' hitched!

We are proud to say that we belong to the 10% of the magic EFY brings. AKA....the unwritten statistic of EFY that counselors meet and end up getting married. Here's the Reader's Digest version:

We were both part of the BYU-Idaho BC team. Our first week in Provo we were paired up as partners.

We had a mini date...with mini s'mores. Literally. How cute. Tender.

Anyway, the magic began there....and it just got better and better.

Now we're engaged.

The end.

Here are a few facts about the future Mrs. Aubrey Claybrook:

1) She loves sugar. It's a weakness.

2) She graduated from BYU in English and taught 6th grade last year.

3) She has an older sister and a younger brother.

4) She's hooked on Smallville now...thanks to Sam.

5) She loves to eat...and sometimes outeats her lovely fiance.

6) She loves to have fun and laugh...and has a plethora of laughs still undiscovered to mankind.

7) She loves to sleep.

8) She is a native of Salt Lake City.

9) She is very outgoing and loves to meet new people.

10) She never thought she would end up marrying someone from Missouri and living in the burg.

11) Last of all, she's just perfect for me. (says Samuel)

You may shed a tear or two now.

We're getting married in the Salt Lake temple on December 21, 2010. How aesthetically pleasing does that look to the eye? 12.21.2010. Pretty darn I'd say.

Changes

Well....dad has been busy making changes to the creek.......rock walls up the side...


....making it deeper, wider, better........


....working the back hoe all day.....at least it gets things done faster than a shovel and a bucket!!!


Next, we need a buldozer to straighten out the creek...........lots of work ahead. Phew!!! I am tired already and I didn't do a thing!!

ANNOUNCING.............

It's official!! Samuel and Aubrey are getting married Dec. 21st in the Salt Lake City temple.....WOOO HOOO!! I know you already know but I had to post this because I honestly don't think Samuel would.........and if you have a better picture than this, Samuel and Aubrey, feel free to share!! We wanna see!!

Welcome to the family Aubrey........we are so excited to get to know you and we are just so happy Samuel found his better half.........now he is whole!!
